This was such a busy week at work! Its the time of year where we start to get a lot of referrals as teachers and staff realize a kid is going to fail for the year. So this week was packed with file reviews, observations of students, and records reviews. It was a lot. But, the student I am suppose to tutor on Fridays (due to his expulsion) didn’t show up, so I had an hour and a half of uninterrupted time to work on paperwork. I wish he had shown up but the time was a gift for sure.
It was in the 70’s again this week. This has been just the weirdest winter ever. We had almost no snow and it hasn’t even really been cold. As someone whose favorite season is winter, this has been a disappointment for sure!
I have been binging New Amsterdam. I really used to enjoy Grey’s Anatomy, but it just got to be too much emotional manipulation. So finding New Amsterdam has filled my need for medical drama. So far (season 2), I’m enjoying it. I also love that it has a former Doctor’s companion as a doctor (Martha from Dr. Who).
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
Looks like you got some good books read there! Sorry its been a weird winter for you, for us its been super normal or what we used to have so its been nice to get so much snow. I hope you enjoy those Elle Kennedy books.
Yes, the weather has been weird here! We had like a freak icy weather night Friday night that no one seemed to realize was coming, weathermen didn’t say much about it. Then there were tons of accidents. But it was all melted by mid afternoon on Saturday. Now tonight we’re possibly going to have thunderstorms with hail! Spring type weather! Craziness. I pre-ordered the new Ruby Dixon one from a store she mentioned for some special deal, even though I have only read the first one in the series. I need to get going on those! The student who didn’t show up reminds me how often that happens and as bad as it is for the students, I often am a little glad that I get extra time for that. Hope you have a good week!
That is disappointing about the student, I’m sure. How sad. And 70’s! Wow. That sounds kinda good, but I like winter too (for the most part) and it is weird tohave temps like thatthis time of year! We did get some snow and ice this past week, that big storm they were talking about but it wasn’t as bad as it could have been…
Hope you have a great rest of the weekend
I guess if I actually liked winter, I would be disappointed too. I am more a fall/spring lover. Hope things settle down a bit at work for you
I feel your disappointment with the lack of winter. I get so little as it is, and here it is February and it’s already in 80’s. This does not bode well for summer.
That’s sad about your student. Doesn’t sound like he’s on a good path.
You are having a weird winter. We’re having snow, snow, and more snow! It just keeps coming down.
I feel like weather everywhere has been strange lately which I know is probably linked to global warming but it’s frustrating. I want typical winter weather to wrap up in a blanket in. I don’t want to say it’s good the student didn’t show up for tutoring but at least there was a positive to be had from it that you could do other work and hadn’t just wasted your time instead. I watched the first 2 seasons of New Amsterdam and really enjoyed it but haven’t stayed up to date with it for some reason.
It’s also been a very weird winter for us!
