I also got a HUGE paperback haul from publishers this week! I’ll post it on IG.

This week felt like it was 100 days long. Seriously, it was just painful!! But, it’s finally the weekend and I am hopefully next week won’t feel like an epic.

I’m kind of glad there won’t be a presidential debate next week. I have election fatigue, pandemic fatigue, and plain old fatigue. It’s all just SO depressing.

I teach in a rural county and the cases of COVID have been super low. Until last week. 3 schools in the area reported cases and I’m sure there will be more. My students don’t have internet and they struggle without direct instruction from a teacher so I am worried about the possibility of online learning.

My students are reading The Hunger Games and I love it. I haven’t read it in years, but I love the book so much. Its a nice escape!

That was my week-long, but nothing tragic or anything. At this point in 2020, that’s a win.

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I hear you on the debate! I don’t know if I can take any more of those. ๐Ÿ™‚ And I hope your Covid cases don’t get higher. It’s such a hard time right now. Be well and I hope you have a better week ahead!

  2. I hope your student won’t have to resort to online school Suzanne! And it must be amazing to read The Hunger Games with them! I have a friend who is an English teacher and he always asks me for what books his students would like to read. Have a good week, hopefully better for you!

  3. I think many are feeling the wear the entire year has taken on us. I was discussing that with my daughter, and it’s why I believe cases are on the rise again. I hope this week is better for you and that your school is not forced to close. I think in person instruction is crucial for our special education populations. Can’t wait to see your physical book haul!

  4. Yes I have that fatigue as well. I’m sorry the week was so long for you. I’m also sorry for so much of the country dealing with the horrible politics and COVID ongoing with no plan. I hope by Thanksgiving things will be better, at least there won’t be campaign ads. In NC, we have gone from the 9th state to the 7th state in total number of COVID cases because stupid people not doing simple prevention stuff. Or maybe it’s the superspreader events. Wishing you a smoother week with some great reads!

  5. I hope you don’t have to go back to online learning. Hopefully this week won’t feel so tedious.

I’m looking forward to Robyn Carr’s newest. Have a great week, Samantha! ๐Ÿ™‚
