This past week was a little better than the week before. I think I just need to remember it’s just a job and it’s my last year before I switch to school psychology and a new place. I’m gonna hang a sign up at my desk to remind me.

Because I teach in a rural area, we are off this coming week for the county fair. Yep, a week off for the county fair. I’m sure it will lead to an increase in COVID cases. No one in the area is big on vaccines or masks.

I’m hoping to get some reading in this week. I really haven’t been reading at all. I’m so exhausted at the end of every day I just fall asleep. The only books I’m squeezing in are audiobooks because I spend 90 min a day in the car. I also need to get some house cleaning/organizing done this week. YIKES. Things are looking rough around here. Also, we have no clean utensils. Like at all.

My hubby and I went to see Shang-Chi on Saturday. I LOVED it. Great movie!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Being able to do grad school and. full-time job is quite a feat. So, maybe the housework takes a bit of a backseat. I am curious when you say they are not into vaccines. Is it just the Covid vaccine or are these children without any vaccines? I am annoyed at people I know who won’t get the covid vax, but have had all their vaccines to date. They even get flu shots. I am perflexed.

    • We have several kids with very few vaccines period. But, mostly they just don’t want the COVID vaccine. They are the type of people who get the vaccines as kids that are required for school, but none after that. It’s just the way of things out there.

  2. I’ve not read Lani Lynn Vale in a while – I hope you enjoy that arc! I’m hoping to read some older Sierra Simone books this month, if I find the time! I teach in the UK though have moved out of mainstream into an alternative provision, the stress and pressure is so much less and I’ve discovered my love of teaching again.

  3. Good for you to keep remembering that your job situation is temporary. Mind set is everything! I hope you have a less stressful week and maybe some time to enjoy a book! I do a lot of reading by audio as well since I spend about the same time, maybe a little more in the car on my commutes too. Thank goodness for that, right? Have a lovely week!

  4. I have learned that the proper mind set makes all the difference in the world. Happy to see that your situation is only temporary. Audiobooks are such a great way to get through those books when you don’t have much other spare time for physical reading.
