Non-Bookish News:

So Wednesday we got a ‘snow’ day. It was really more of an ice day, but the end result is the same-I got to stay home and sleep! However, our water heater broke that day too. So, I haven’t had a hot shower since Tuesday. The part had to be ordered and it should be here Tuesday. Hopefully it is the correct fix! Freezing cold showers are not cool.

This week was stressful at work too. Everyone is overwhelmed and their anxiety makes me stressed. Add to that the no hot water issue and home and I was a hot mess! But, by Friday, things were calmer. Even the kids seemed to be more zen!

Monday my mom and dad came down and we went out to dinner. Last Sunday was my mom’s birthday, so it was great to see them. We had this amazing gluten free bruschetta pizza. Garlic butter, cheese, tomato, and basil….YUM! I have been thinking about that pizza all week. I see another one in my future soon πŸ™‚ But, the bigger news?! My mom is finally reading Susan Stoker!! I have been NAGGING her for years. Nagging does work πŸ˜‰ Also, she brought me some rugs with rubber backing to help with all the mud my dogs track in! So far, I am in love. It has cut down on the mud for sure. And, it doesn’t slide around on the floor like other rugs or mats we have tried. So, yay for my mom and dad giving us a bunch of awesome mats!

Have a great Valentine’s day! Read some romance to celebrate!!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I could totally use a snow day but I will take presidents day next monday.
Sorry your week was so stressful but glad it calmed down.
Moms are awesome, my mom gets me stuff like that all the time. I think she enjoys it so I don’t say anything when she comes over with stuff.

That pizza sounds amazing, I now want pizza! πŸ™‚

Have a great week, Samantha! Happy Reading!

  2. Everyone seems to be getting horrendous snow as of late, I hope the awful weather eases off for you soon. And what an amazing haul, I hope you enjoy all your reads and have a great week πŸ™‚

  3. That’s great your mom is trying an author you recommended. Hope you get some hope water this week. Cold showers are no fun! Ya on the mats. OMG they can do wonders with pets and muddy feet. Hope you enjoy your book haul. I also picked up Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon. I can’t wait to dive in.
Have a great week and Happy Reading!

  4. Sorry to hear about the water heater! I absolutely cannot take a shower with no hot water, I hate the freezing part! I guess everyone does lol. This is definitely not the time of year for it though (especially if you’re in a cold area). Yay for the snow day though!

    Yum that pizza sound awesome.

  5. Wednesday is the best day to have off. It really breaks up the week. I don’t like snow or ice, but I like days off. Isn’t it exciting when someone takes your advice on what to read? A woman at work took two books from me this week (Britt-Marie was Here and Illuminae). I can’t wait to see what she thinks.

  6. I feel your pain with the water heater issue! We had problems where ours was under warranty and then they kept sending us parts that didn’t fix the problem so I ended up without a hot water heater for like 2 weeks! I would boil water for my baths and it was such a hassle!

Yay for wonderful new rugs and delicious gluten free pizza. πŸ™‚ Sorry to see you didn’t love Final Siege as much as I did. I gave it four stars. I’ll check out your review. ::)

  7. Okay, that meal sounds seriously mouth watering. This might sound really weird, but I wish so much right now that I was there (for the food, of course, XD). Great book haul (as usual). I’ll like to forget about Valentine’s day, because being forever single, lonely, and unlikable, this would be the most depressing day of the year for me. Have a great week!

  8. It sounds like you have had a great week here!! I am so jealous of your Snow Day. I think I can count on one finger the number of times we have done a snow day here in Utah.

I hope you have fun plans for Valentines Day though darling.!!! I definitely plan on something fun maybe some country dancing this weekend.

  9. I think I was in your neck of the woods last Wednesday (ohio?) I was shocked that school was closed for what felt like a little snow – we usually only close if it’s 6+ inches in Minnesota. We were so confused when no one was showing up for our meetings!

You’ve got a great looking book haul this week πŸ˜‰ Really excited to jump into some romances for valentines day – although I’ve just about always got my nose in one of those anyways πŸ™‚

  10. I hope you have hot water once more!
I just did the opposite from you this week – I got rid of all the mats and rugs, and they were so utterly disgusting. Now, I will have to wash the floor every day, but at least I won’t have a sandbox and mud in the rug anymore…
Your new books look awesome. I’m so behind on Kerrelyn Spark these days it’s not even funny.
I hope you’re having a wonderful week xoxo
