Adria, wolf changeling and resilient soldier, has made a break with the past - one as unpredictable in love as it was in war. Now comes a new territory, and a devastating new complication: Riaz, a SnowDancer lieutenant already sworn to a desperate woman who belongs to another.

For Riaz, the primal attraction he feels for Adria is a staggering betrayal. For Adria, his dangerous lone wolf appeal is beyond sexual. It consumes her. It terrifies her. It threatens to undermine everything she has built of her new life. But fighting their wild attraction proves a losing battle.

Their coming together is an inferno.... and a melding of two wounded souls who promise each other no commitment, no ties, no bonds. Only pleasure. Too late, they realize that they have more to lose than they ever imagined. Drawn into a cataclysmic Psy war that may alter the fate of the world itself, they must make a decision that might just break them both.

Tangle of Need was not a book I was DYING to get to. I love this series, but I wasn’t passionate about getting Riaz and Adria’s story. But, Singh is the queen of the genre for a reason and I am so glad to have listened to the love story of these two broken souls!

Riaz met his mate. End of story, right? Nope. His mate is a human, happily married to another human. Riaz is sure he will be miserable and broken hearted for the rest of his days. He heads back to Snow Dancer to heal with his pack around. He feels a strong attraction to Adria, but knows that nothing could ever come from it. Adria feels the pull too but is determined to not get caught up in Riaz’s drama and despair. You know what they say about the best laid plans…

My heart broke for Adria. She is a strong soldier with a deep heart for caring. She has not had luck with men and is sure Riaz will break her heart. She can’t see how anything good can come from their relationship but she isn’t strong enough to resist the need for skin privileges. They begin an affair but Adria is always waiting for the end. My heart hurt for her!! And honestly, I couldn’t even be mad at Riaz because it wasn’t like any of this was his choice either. Not having anyone to ‘blame’ for the situation made it all the more poignant.

In addition to the tragic love story of Adria and Riaz, there is the building Psy civil war. You get more of Hawke and Sienna, Riley and Mercy, Kaleb and the arrows. Its all coming to a head and its going to be vicious. Each book in the series adds to the arc of this impending war and leaves you panting to get the next installment! Seriously-at the end of this one I was like ‘What?!? No!!!!’

Tangle of Need was the Psy-Changeling book I didn’t know I need in my life. What happens when you aren’t in love with your fated mate? Its a question I didn’t realize I wanted an answer for but am so thrilled Singh provided it.

  1. I just adored this one so much too but it was one that surprised me and I really liked the way Singh wrote it. I And the fun intereactions between Hawke and Sienna were AWESOME Too!! I am so thrilled to see you loving the series so much.

    • YES! He was being so unreasonable that I just couldn’t ever believe a relationship between these 2 would work long term. It was sad. But, it doesn’t matter because I love this series so much!

  2. Yeah Tangle of Need wasn’t my absolute favorite or even the most well liked story out of the Psy-Changeling series. This story brought some confusion for me seeing as we were told how important mates were and then have things switched up in this story threw me off a little. In the end though I found myself liking Adria’s character, so i somewhat endured this installment for her sake.

    • Yes, them ending up not being mates when this whole series is predicated on mates felt a bit anti-climactic and made me feel that their story was an HFN not an HEA
