Non-Bookish News:

I’m so glad its almost Thanksgiving here in the USA. I need the time off work. Everything has been crazy at work. The kids are getting restless, the teachers are getting frustrated, and no one is in a good mood. It was just a stressful week. By Friday, I was just DONE! So, Thanksgiving break can’t come soon enough for me.

Friday it was 76 degrees here. Saturday? 42 degrees. There were even a few snow flurries. Welcome to ‘fall’ in Ohio I suppose!

I decided to use my frustration energy for work to get in some extra workout times. Thursday and Friday I had a total of over 45 workout min each day according to my apple watch. Hopefully I will start to see some scale movements in the opposite direction than it has been going! It seems like my weight just keeps creeping up. I’m starting to freak out about it (again, see my first note about the stress at work. The scale is just adding to that stress!)

Do you bookstagram? I am terrible at it, but I am enjoying attempting! Looking at everyone else’s bookstagram posts makes me envious of their skills! I consider it a success if I can keep my dogs from photobombing!! You can see my poor attempts at bookstagram in the sidebar!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I’m trying to get the hang of Bookstgram, I enjoy coming up with idea even if they don’t always turn out and checking out all the really nice pics people post. Like you I tend to get jealous of other peoples talent and Funkopop collections. LOL!

    • Oh my gosh the Funkopop! Some people have an amazing collection and have one that goes with so many books they post about! Its unreal! Glad I am not the only one who gets instagram envy!

  2. Hope you have a really enjoyable Thanksgiving. I always think this is toughest term – the children have to be acclimatised back to school and its routines after the summer and with the runup to Christmas going full pelt, eveyone is exhausted by the time it comes around. And these days, I don’t think the holidays are long enough. I don’t know about the US, but our children only get a fornight. They’re still digesting their turkey dinners by the time they are back at school…

    • Thankfully at the private school I work at we are off Wednesday-Tuesday of the next week week. So, its actually a good break. We are lucky in that regard!
      Have a great week!

  3. I think as the holidays get closer people get cranky because they have so much to do. I am looking forward to the break also since I don’t get anymore breaks until next year…maybe.

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving! Happy Reading! ox

  4. I am relieved to have time off from work too. I usually don’t have Thanksgiving week off, but with my daughter out of school and being in desperate need for a break, I figured it was something I needed to do.

I am sure my weight has crept up the last few weeks. I haven’t been exercising because I’ve been sick. It’s the cough and congestion really. I can’t wait to be done with it. I need to get back to exercising.

I hope you have a great week, Samantha! And Happy Thanksgiving!

  5. Same here with the weather. Dropped 30 degrees and we got snow and hail. And windy! Was at a Christmas walk type thing and just about got blown away! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving! It’s a good time of year for a break. 🙂 And yes Instagram- I’ve added an account but haven’t done much with it, but there are some amazing ones out there!

  6. Oh man sounds like everyone needs a break!! Hope you enjoy the time off. just started exercising again. I kind of hate but my husband is really great at cheering me on. Very cool to keep track with the Apple watch!! Enjoy your new books and have a great week and Thanksgiving!

    • Yes, the apple watch helps keep me motivated which I didn’t quite expect! Just trying to hit my targets each day is more motivation that I anticipated!

  7. Your photos aren’t bad at all! Compared to mine, they are fabulous! Though, I think that most people don’t like their own photos. I’m hoping to have a post up about Instagram this Friday, and I’ll probably talk about it more there. Enjoy your break, and have a fabulous week! 🙂

  8. Sounds like it is the end of a bit of a long year. I’m glad you will get a break soon!

Well done for getting some extra workouts in! I hope that the scale starts heading in the direction that you want it to go.

I do not really bookstagram. I lurk there, I have a few people that I like following and seeing their gorgeous posts, but I don’t actually post anything of importance myself. One day when I have more time on my hands I might try to get some posts up but really – I’m not sure I’m artistic enough!

Hope you have a good week this week and enjoy your haul!

  9. Hey Samantha,

You’ve got a great week under your belt and holy cow, you write a lot of reviews. I’m in awe with how productive you are. Keep up the good work!
