I identify with this dog.
@thor_the_english_bulldogThor likes his snacks a little too much. #intothethickofit #bulldogsoftiktok #dogsoftiktok #petsoftiktkok
I have been reading a bunch!!! It is awesome since I was in a slump for a bit. But, I have been diving into some sci fi romance and PNR. It’s awesome! Also, I love that Ice Planet Barbarians is such a hit on tiktok now! That is a great series.
One more week until classes start. I got all my textbooks ready to go. I think I’m anxious to get started because I know once I start I will be super busy and time will fly. Then, I can start a new career that is better for my hearing impairment and anxiety. I wish I could go back to high school and tell my guidance counselor to shut the hell up with the whole “do what you’re interested in” as a major. What BS! Yes, it’s important, but it didn’t prepare me for life at all. I loved History and majored in it, then couldn’t find a job. I had no idea how to explore career options and really think about how likely getting a job in those areas would be. Sigh. Oh well, I’m figuring it out at 40 and that is enough.
Speaking of my hearing, my husband and I went to a restaurant for the first time in forever and I was miserable!! I forgot how awful places like that are for my hearing! So much noise-clattering, music, conversation-and my hearing aids pick up everything. It’s not like I can tell them to filter out the clatter. I have VERY tech advanced hearing aids but am constantly reminded that they are aids-they don’t make my hearing normal. They make my hearing manageable.
I finished my binge of House and am now back to a Friends binge (the reunion show prompted my desire to rewatch for the millionth time). I have to say, HBO Max and Peacock really have a huge step up on Netflix because they allow me to really binge-no asking me if I’m still watching after 3 episodes. Respect the binge!
So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
I’m still laughing at that dog video. I’m going to start identifying as skinny. LOL I saw it’s never too late to make a change and do what you really want/need to do. I applaud you for going for it and making it happen! Ugh, the noisy restaurant sounds terrible. I’m sensitive to noise (it gets overwhelming and makes me very anxious) so I can’t imagine how it was for you. Scratch that one off the list!
I love that dog! Good luck with classes! I give you a lot of credit switching gears. I only have tinnitus and I struggle in noisy places. I have taken the really noisy restaurants out of rotation.
It’s not easy to make changes and you are doing so well with it. Many wouldn’t have faced the effort of figuring it out by looking at what could work for them. I really admire that. Or once they knew they might be too afraid to actually do it. I was so worried when you weren’t able to go to the new school but I’m glad that worked out too. Enjoy the rest of your time off!
Well Samantha it’s difficult to choose a career path at 18 honestly. I wanted to go to art school and work for Disney but my dad told me that I had a brain and go to university instead. That I could always draw in my free time. So I got a Master in economics I have a job that pays well but it took me years before having the time to do some art on the side.
Bummer to have a reading slump. Ice Planet Barbarians is such a fun series! Great way to break it!
Glad to hear you’re finally onto a job that fits! 🙂
I wish you the best as you start your new semester… and the first step to your new career! Also, yay for getting out of your reading slump! They are no fun.
I’m excited for you and starting your new classes! Any ideas on a possible career choice?
Friends! One of my all-time favorite shows! I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch the reunion special yet because I know I will cry my eyes out. One of these days I’ll be brave enough 🙂
