She thought she was finally safe…
After two years of running Tegan O’Kelly could finally stop when the deadly gangster after her died. Eight months ago she put down roots in sunny Miami. For the first time in years she has friends, a job she likes and she can think about the future, not just surviving to the next day. When her car is bombed in broad daylight, she decides to stand her ground instead of running from her faceless enemy.
But a deadly enemy has her in his crosshairs…
Single father Aaron Fitzpatrick knew Tegan was trouble from the moment he laid eyes on her. Sexy trouble wrapped up in a petite, dynamite package he fantasizes about kissing far too often. So far he’s been able to keep his distance, but when he witnesses her car explode—with her close by—something protective erupts inside him. After his wife left him and their son five years ago, he’s stayed away from relationships and women, but he can’t keep his distance from Tegan. It’s clear she’s in danger and the more he learns about her, the more he knows he has to stand beside her and fight the danger hunting her.
Red Stone Security Series, #14Author note: As all books in the Red Stone Security series, this book can be read as a stand-alone.
Dangerous Protector

Red Stone Security is full of hot, protective alphas looking for damsels to save and I LOVE IT! While one could say these books are predictable and be correct, that doesn’t mean boring!
Dangerous Protector is book 14 in the series but you really can read it as a standalone. I have only read a few of the more recent ones and have no problems keeping up. Tegan is our hero in Dangerous Protector. She is a sweet, shy girl who works in a coffee shop that Aaron, our alpha hero, frequents. Aaron is a single dad and doesn’t think he is really good enough for Tegan. She thinks he is hot, but she has a boatload of baggage she doesn’t want anyone else to be burdened with. And then her car blows up. So, pretty quickly Aaron gets the low down on Tegan’s life and his alpha roars to life. He is determined to save her and convince her to let him love her.
You find out pretty quickly who is ‘stalking’ Tegan. But, there is another person stalking her as well and quite frankly, that part of the plot felt really unnecessary and, quite frankly, weak. Yes, I totally suspend reality when I am reading but this side plot/2nd stalker was just not really believable at all. I mean, his reasons at first were okay, but as the story progresses and things change, his reasons became really insane.
Weird plot twist aside, I still loved this book. Perhaps I loved it because of the predictability. Sometimes, I just love to curl up with a book and know exactly what I am getting-danger, sexy times, protective men, smart women, and an HEA. I finished this book in a few hours too so its an easy binge read!

Rescuing Rayne by Susan Stoker, Strong Silent SEAL by Paige Tyler, Wrong Place, Right Time by Elle Casey…then you will probably like Dangerous Protector!
I love Katie Reus, and I’m happy this series is still going strong, Samantha! Great review 🙂
