This Week’s Book Haul:

I might have gone a little ARC crazy….but look at all the pretties!!!

Non-Bookish News:

Today I am headed to Indianapolis for a family get together. I’m excited, but being gluten free makes family get togethers tricky. I can’t eat much. But, at least I can chat books with my cousin, who is an author! Then they all chat about Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead and I have nothing to contribute. Sigh.

It finally cooled off a little here. The 1st and 2nd days of November were in the 80s! Thats just crazy. But, now it looks like we will stick in the upper 60’s to low 70’s for at least the next 15 days. Still seems fairly warm to me for November though. I just want it to get cold and snow. I know I am crazy and probably the only person who wants snow, but I do.

I preordered my birthday present! It should arrive around December 7th or so 🙂 I am getting a new Macbook Pro! I was totally floored by the touch technology they have incorporated into it. My birthday is December 2nd, so it will be about a week late, but thats fine with me! I’m just so excited. I have a Macbook Air now, and its about 3 years old. Its still in good shape so my husband is going to sell it to help pay off the new Macbook 🙂

I have parent teacher conferences this week. So, Thursday I have a full day of work, then conferences from 3pm – 8pm. So, that will make Thursday a 13 hour work day. YIKES. The plus side, I don’t have school on Friday (Veteran’s day). I have a doctors appointment and a hair appointment instead! Woohoo!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. You sound oh so busy, Samantha! And wow on all those ARCs, even if I completely understand why you want them all, I’m kind of happy they’re not mine 😉
Parent-teacher conferences must be very taxing! I will send you lots of positive vibes on Thursday.
Thanks for linking to my A-Z tag 🙂
have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

  2. Curious to hear your thoughts on Managed. I didn’t like her first book in that series, but I did like the sound of this guy. How exciting about the new Macbook! Sounds like a great birthday present. And yay for a hair appointment and a day off work.
I hope you have a good week and happy reading!

  3. That Mac Pro sounds awesome. I’m shopping around right now. My computer works fine but it’s old and I’d hate to have it crash and not have aone to fall back on. Such a bust week for you and next week too. I hope you find time to enjoy those new reads.

  4. Congrats on your early Christmas present. I have never used MAC, but have been looking at them since I loathe Windows. I understand there is a learning curve, but love that I can use chrome on it. Ha, look at all those ARCS…enjoy my friend.

  5. Your sure got a nice haul of new books this week! I hope they are all good ones. I hope the family get together goes well. It’s difficult when you don’t eat something. I don’t mind snow as long as I don’t have to go anywhere, it always looks so pretty! Yay for ordering your birthday present, I hope it arrives soon. Have a great week!

  6. Have fun at the family get together! That sucks about how being gluten-free makes it so difficult, but at least you get to talk books! And oh yeah, I remember your cousin is Isabel Jordan, right? I have the second book in the series but haven’t gotten around to reading it.

Good luck with your 13-hour work day (!) and enjoy your Friday off 🙂 Have a great week!

  7. I love those new computer gadgets too. How exciting! I hope you LOVE it!! We’ve been really warm here too. It was still in the 90s two weeks ago which is insane and then all last week was low to mid 80s. This is not usual weather for us. Normally it’s warmer, because we’re AZ, but this is normally my 70 degree weather that I love. Anyway, thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous week and holiday weekend!

  8. Omg you need to watch Game of Thrones ASAP!!!! I never wanted to watch it, but when I started dating my boyfriend, him and all of his group of friends would watch it so I started it and got hooked so quickly!
Wow 13 hours at the school? I wish you luck!!
Ooh I hope you love your Macbook 🙂

    • Everyone keeps telling me to watch GOT. Like, they can’t believe there are people in the world who haven’t seen it because they love it so much!

  10. I got tired just reading your post! Busy girl. Glad it cooled off a bit but I’d like to enjoy a bit more of Autumn before we get to Winter! LOL
    Have a great week!

  11. Hope you have fun with the family… and that the eating challenges aren’t enough to put a damper on the time there. I feel pretty out of it *anytime* people start talking TV shows. I rarely turn the TV on so I have *nothing* to contribute about any show at all. Totally exciting about the new Macbook! Hope you have a great week!

  12. Jen

YAY for the Fire In You ARC! I can’t wait to see what you think of it and here’s hoping it’s an epic ending to that series. I’m planning to read that arc next, once I finish Full Tilt (which has been an emotional roller coaster ride). And isn’t that the best when we can buy our own birthday presents?! I’m so excited for you and I hope you love it! 🙂
