I hope everyone who celebrates had a Merry Christmas! My husband and I stayed home and relaxed. It was perfect.

So, I have applied to a university for my Ed.S degree in school psychology. My hearing loss has created such great anxiety that I need to start making some changes. I can’t be in the noisy environments of the classroom. Now, I just have to deal with my anxiety for the next 2 years while I finish my new licensure. I plan to look around for a different job next year-one that will allow me to work with small groups instead of in the general education classroom. However, in the US, we really push special education students into the general education classroom with the support of an intervention specialist, meaning 99% of special education jobs are in the general education classroom. But, maybe I will be lucky and find something that is small group instead of whole group. Fingers crossed!

Teachers in Ohio are in the next wave to be vaccinated. We got an email on Monday asking if we wanted to get the vaccine so they can coordinate with the health department. I’m hopeful they will give it to me. I had an anaphylactic reaction to a flu vaccine many years ago so I have to get my flu shot through my allergy doctor. No one else will risk it.

I’m hopeful that Congress will agree on a higher stimulus check-we could really use it! Things have been financially tight and with starting grad school again, its gonna get tighter!

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!
