Sunday Post

Welcome to this week’s Sunday Post. This feature is brought to you by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer, so swing by after you are done here and get the full list of participants!

What I Reviewed:

I didn’t do too bad this month. I am already behind on my goodreads goal though. Seriously, I don’t need them telling me I’m in a slump! (some of these I read in December, but just reviewed this month so this is a few more books than I actually read this month)

What’s Coming Up:

  •   I don’t have ANY books due this week so I will just read/review whatever!

Non-Bookish News:

So, I had 3 snow days this week! We went to school on Monday and Tuesday, then the rest of the week was a wash. Wednesday and Thursday weren’t for snow, but for the bitter cold. Busses won’t start in subzero weather, so we were off both those days. Then Thursday night into Friday morning, it snowed. It didn’t snow much, but everything was SO COLD that it just froze and made the roads very slick. I enjoyed my days off! Snow days are like bonus days for teachers.

I’m glad January is over. That month was brutal! Why is January always such a struggle?

My new obsession is 60 Days In on A&E. Seriously, people VOLUNTEER to go into jail for 60 days. Who does that? CRAZY! I hope they get paid well for it, because its nuts. They are suppose to be gathering intel to make jail operations safer/better, but for the most part, they are just trying not to die.

Anyone do Weight Watchers? Have any tips or good sites for me to check out? I am struggling.

Tomorrow is my mom’s birthday!! She is the most amazing woman. I want to be her when I grow up 🙂

So, whats new with you this week? Did you read any of the same books I did? Did you find any great book deals I need to grab ASAP? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Snow days are the best, I love them but don’t get paid for them but when the kids are off on snow days, I have to take off since I don’t want my mom driving here to watch the kids. Unplanned days are sometimes the best days.

My daughter had off on Thursday because of the cold weather. It was freezing! lol I am glad she had off, wish my son got off too but he had half day so that was good.

My sister did weight watchers and did very well on it but she attended meeting and also just followed along with eating in moderation, smaller portion sizes and more fresh foods. She did goos with it but it takes a lot of time to lost the weight because it’s not suppose to come off fast. You should lose about 1 lbs a week.

Happy Birthday to your mom! 🙂

Have a great week, Samantha! Happy Reading!

  2. What? People volunteer to go to jail??? You American are NUTS! LOL I bet we European will catch up with this you know. Now about your reads the list is LONG! Let’s hope next week will be warmer for you Samantha! I hope we don’t get these temperatures here!

  3. Yeay for reading whatever! Those are the best months.
We had snow this week too but it didn’t last too long or cause much disruption which is the best kind of snow, imo. ::)

I’ve never tried WW but I’m trying to follow slimming world but it’s a struggle too… I wish you luck and motivation!

  4. Happy birthday to your mom! And 60 Days In sounds terrifying. I’m not sure I’d want to go on for six hours lol. But I imagine it’s super interesting too- I might have to check that out!

Snow days are the best. 🙂

  5. Happy Birthday to your Mom. I want to be my Mom when I grow up too. I think she’s an angel in disguise:) I remember snow days. We rarely get them here as it barely never snows. We sometimes get ice storms that shut everything down though. You reviewed so many books. I was terrible in January. I spent the weekend getting some posts scheduled ahead. Got lots more to write.

  6. Wow Samantha, that is a lot of reviews you were able to complete! And I wish we had a snow day, we didn’t even get any snow! hope you have a great week 🙂

  7. I’ve never read anything by Jodi Ellen Malta’s but Gentleman Sinner has definitely been on my radar. I checked Amazon on release day and was surprised to find the Kindle version was $7.99. Ack! On a whim, I checked my library’s Overdrive app and was shocked that they have it! There’s already a long waiting list but at least I’ll get my turn eventually. 🙂
