A few years ago, when his sister went missing, Haggard Crow turned into something he never wanted to be. A killer.
Even after his sister is rescued a year after she was kidnapped and sold, Haggard ‘Thief’ Crow doesn’t have any plans on changing. He sort of likes the zero fucks given guy that he is now.
Bonus points, he saves women and children from extreme situations, along with his club and real life brothers by his side. After a horrible marriage, Haggard has zero plans of ever finding a woman again. One-night stands not counting, he adores his life as a single man. There are no expectations. No ‘where are yous’ and ‘are you coming homes.’
The life he chooses to live is a simple one. Until he makes a huge mistake, and he steps over that line between ‘daughter’s best friend’ and ‘a woman he desperately wants.’
Before long, he can’t stop thinking about her. Can’t stop wanting her. Can’t stop feeling things for her that a man twenty years her senior should never feel for a girl he watched grow up.
After one lapse in judgment, he decides she needs to go. But the funny thing is, he never expected Sophia Madden to fight back. And dirty at that.
Always Someone’s Monster is a spin off series from the Madd Crossfit series featuring Sophia Madden and Haggard Crow. This is an age gap romance-she is 22 and he is her best friends dad. At first, I was worried this was going to have “daddy” kink and I just cannot read that. There is a joke early on in the story about her calling him daddy, but it is NOT a daddy kink thank goodness.
Haggard and his brothers started an MC and spend their nights hunting and hurting those who kidnap and sell women and children. Haggard is recently divorced from his kids’ mom and thrilled to be away from her. Sophia lost her brother in a fire a year ago, and her dad is in a serious downward spiral. So, there is lots of dark topics touched on, but through it all, Sophia and Haggard find that its worth fighting for something you want even if it might make others uncomfortable. I appreciated that his kids were on board with the relationship.
Readers of the Madd Crossfit series will be super surprised by events at the end of the story for sure!

other age gap romances like Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh, Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley, or Torn by Carian Cole…then you will probably like Always Someone’s Monster!
This sounds pretty interesting, Samantha. I’ve only read one book by this author and it was in audio. I wonder if she’d work better for me if I read her. I see this is a spinoff so maybe I’ll start with that series first. Great review!
I’ve never read anything by Vale but I seriously like the sound of this one. It seems like it could be read without reading the original series first??
